1867–68 Traveled in Europe with artist John Appleton Brown; studied art in the Paris studio of Emile Charles Lambinet
1869–95 Maintained an art studio in the Tremont Street Studio Building, Boston
1870 Painted in the Yosemite Valley, California
1874 Elected a member of the Boston Art Club and exhibited there
1877–93 Maintained a summer studio at the Crawford House, Crawford Notch, New Hampshire
1886–92 Maintained a winter studio in St. Augustine, Florida
1893 Began painting in watercolors
1894–96 Traveled in Europe
1898–1906 Maintained a summer home and studio in Jackson, New Hampshire
1906 Died in Jackson, New Hampshire
